How to Prepare for Your Next RV Camping Trip

KQ Ranch RV Camping offers all the luxuries of sleeping among the stars, hearing nature rustle, and finding tranquility in the natural beauty. Our campground is meant for those who seek adventure and a peaceful escape from everyday life all at once.

However, we have a long history of RV camping and know that the simplest measures can avoid a big inconvenience down the road, literally. Therefore, here are some essentials that you want to bring on every RV Camping trip, just in case something goes wrong.

Prepare for the Unexpected when Packing Your RV

It’s an old adage, but it holds true. The best way to prepare for any camping trip is to prepare for the worst, but hope for the best; this means you want to pack all sorts of back up equipment and make sure your roadside service subscription is up to date. Keep in mind, though, that you do not want to over pack because too many items will be difficult to store and keep track of on your trip.

• WiFi Card – While KQ Ranch Resort has free WiFi access at our clubhouse, a WiFi Card can be invaluable as a last resort. If you’re lost with a dead phone and dead motorhome battery, plug this into your laptop and you’ll have your location, skype calling, and all other internet access you could need. Ask your cellphone carrier about one before starting your trip.
• Roadside Assistance – As mentioned above, you want to keep AAA or whichever roadside assistance subscription you prefer up to date so that if anything goes wrong on your RV vacation you can have emergency help right away. RV’s are amazing machines, but occasionally something will break, and when it does, you want to have a full-proof plan on how to fix it.
• Water Purifier – At KQ Ranch RV Park, we provide you with all the necessities for simple living, which includes clean water, but if you plan to travel out on your own, we recommend keeping a water purifier handy to avoid any illness.
• Surge Protector – We have full RV hookups at KQ Ranch, but as an added precaution, surge protectors will prevent a power surge in our electric lines from frying any of your electronic equipment.

Always have a Light

Too many times have even the most experienced campers tried to light a fire, only to realize their lighter is out of fuel. Packing an extra is always a good idea. If you don’t have one, feel free to ask your camp neighbors or our facility managers as we are always happy to help.

If you know you will be arriving late and might have trouble finding kindling, pack dryer lint with you from your latest batch of laundry. It ignites quickly and burns with a ferocity that will set your logs aflame and your camping trip on the right foot.

If you’re looking for a light with less heat than a fire and less direct impact than a flashlight, attach a headlamp to the top of an empty water jug. It becomes the perfect lantern for your late night relaxation and stargazing.

These tips are sure to make your RV trip to KQ Ranch Resort a fun one, full of laughter and free from worry. Contact us at 866-217-8111 for more information and to book your stay today.
